C3ID014B_Assessment 01_Part B_Lighting Plan

C3ID014B Assessment 01 - Part A: Submission by Sharmila Kariyawasam

NOTE:
- All of Sharmila's dimensions on the drawing have been deleted.
- You will need to work these out according to the diameter of the beam you determined your lamp is casting at the floor level.

WHY SHARMILA'S DRAWING IS GREAT:
1.  She has drawn her plan accurately to the correct scale of 1:50.
2.  She has orientated her drawing sheet in landscape format which is the standard orientation for a technical drawing.
3. She has placed a vertical title block on her drawing which is the standard orientation for a title block on a technical drawing.
4. She has laid out her dimensions for the lighting layout logically and provided overall dimension lines for the room.
5. She has provided standard symbols such as the north symbol and the arrow symbols indicating what point in the room the sectional view is cutting through and viewing towards.
6. Most importantly she has explained every symbol she has used on her drawing in her legend.
7. Sharmila has left a clear border around all edges of her drawing sheet, ensuring that no information is cut off when her drawing is printed or copied.

WHAT OTHER STANDARD DRAFTING CONVENTIONS SHOULD HAVE BEEN UTILISED ON THIS DRAWING?
1. A drawing label.
- Refer to the drawings issued to you for Assessment 01 of the unit C3ID002B Develop Manual Drafting Skills.
- Note how a symbol with a drawing description is placed under each drawing on a drawing sheet.
2. A box around the legend.
- It is common practice in the industry to create a box for the legend that is set out a little like a table. With symbols in the left column and explanations of the symbols in the right column.
